About this place
If you’re choosing a dish at Yonchome Cafe, the house-special taco rice with homemade chilli meat and a soft-centred egg is an eye-catching place to start. Its chilli meat is made with plenty of minced beef simmered in tomato sauce and seasoned with 7 spices. The menu presents it as a signature dish. It costs ¥1,400, or ¥1,600 with avocado. One diner who tried the taco rice described it as spicy and also enjoyed the version with added avocado. The soft egg and chilli meat are the starting point, while extra toppings let you change things up.
Pizza is another option for a lunch to share. One diner who shared a pizza recalled that it was just the right amount for two. The menu offers pizzas 19 centimetres across, including quattro formaggi, made with 4 kinds of cheese and served with honey on the side, and margherita with tomato sauce and basil.
For a break after a meal, there’s tea and herbal tea as well as coffee. One customer ordered chai and enjoyed it topped with ice cream. Stained glass and mosaic tiles lend the cafe a nostalgic feel, making it a pleasant spot to take your time choosing a drink.
